Two weeks of Taiping…
Thursday, July 17th, 2008
It suppose to be a two week induction course consist of 104 execs and non-execs. But the way I see it, based on the location itself, it turn out to be a fun memorable trip for all. The picture spoke a thousand words. I believe everyone had fun in their own way. On the first week, we all went to Night Safari of Zoo Taiping. As they offer RM 8.00 for group over 20 compare to the normal price of RM10, thus we all went in the evening. For me, I found the zoo lack of light, and some animals already went to sleep after working daytime. Haha.
Zoo Taiping is the third zoo in the world to offer night safari concept to its visitor. Other than that, Zoo Melaka also offer night safari but I never get the chance to go even when I was a student there back then.
On the way walk to Zoo Taiping, we passed by Taiping War Cemetery. It was a war memorial. The place was so clean, until all the adolescents come and lepak! How could u choose a cemetery a place to lepak? Haha.

Then the next Sunday we went to a waterfall nearby the Multimedia College (MMC), Taiping where we had our induction courses. The next day, we all went to a waterfall. I didn’t actually pick up neither the name of the waterfall or the river, however all i care is the photogenic scenery. It was awesome la. Check out the spalshing water that fall over your shoulder. It felt like someone is massaging u from behind. According to locals, we were warn not to bath during or after raining. On the upstream river there’s a small dam. This dam, if the water is overload, it will release automatically all the way down the drain…..which had caused 1 death. Lucky it was a good hair day tht day. We all bath like over 2 hours I suppose.

On the rest of the weekdays we all had our classes as usual from 8:30 morning till 5:30 pm as same as working hours. In the evening once we all went to Taman Tasek Taiping. It was very calm with so many elders would come and take a walk around the park. Some of them can even jog or run faster than me! The youngsters in return would prefer for evening sports like football or rugby.

The coordinator, En Johari said 3 things you shoud do before u leave Taiping: 1. Mi Doli 2. Bukit Larut 3. Taman Tasik Taiping. I didn’t actually had the chance to go Mi Doli as I have my budget tight. However the last two I went. And Bukit Larut I believe as a avid climber, was the best. On top you can see the whole Taiping town and if you lucky, En Johari said we can see the Penang Brigde if there’s no cloudy day! We altogether went and all of us manage to reached to the top. They even offer a 4WD with a little of service charge which I don’t know how much.
But to make it to the top was great. The TM exchange itself was very old and built by British. A number of us followed En Johari to climb Gunung Hijau. All of us made it there safely except the ‘pacat’ part. It rained half way and I got 5 leeches suck my leg simultaneously without me realizing! Haih! ![]()

The final week of Sunday we had our last team building activity and that is the treasure hunt. After that we had a barbecue till midnight. Overall we did learn a lot during the induction course about TM. Other that that i believe majority of us had put a lot of weight! Haha.
Eat eat eat and eat! Got yong tau foo, mi doli, and its durian season. We also bought durians and ate together. Haha!

My beloved Mama was born here. But I never get to explore Taiping tht much back then as a small kid. But now it was totally ‘wow’. The local would undoubtly say it’s a ‘Pekan Pencen’ since there aren’t much hustle and bustle of cars, traffic jams like we had back in KL. Even when the clock reaches 8:30 pm, they aren’t much cars in town. That’s how Taiping can be as simple as it can be.
p.s.: I’m still uploading the pictures to my server. It’s gonna take some time. For the time being you can download some of the albums as listed below. Enjoy the photos! ![]()
