As i picked yesterday’s newspaper The Star (which my housemates continue to subscribe after a long holiday we stop), I was attracted to the picture of Michelle Leslie or better known Michelle Lee in her modelling career. She was convicted of using drugs while on her holiday in Bali, Indonesia. What makes she’s so interest to the media? And personally to
Me?
The main reason that makes her so interest to me was none of the above. But she claimed herself a
Muslim on 29 August 2005 (according to wikipedia.com) really steals my interest! ANd according to theswanker.com, she has been a Muslim for 18 months, which was believe to be an advantage of her release couple of days ago.
Is she really a Muslim?
I believe this would be mostly main topic for some famous bloggers. Well, if u asked me, i also don’t know. U better ask her yourself. She’s working in Singapore and currently resides there. Very near. For me, she is a muslim.
“She was a Muslim when she was doing catwalk stuff, so I don’t think the fact that she wear a hijab at times conflicts with her belief”
-Mulcahy, Leslie’s spokesman
What do people think?
i would like to highlight a comment from a christian which I found in a blog.
“I’m a christian and the religion forbids any sexual acts including possing half naked for the camera. Jesus also said to dress modestly and in the old testement women used 2 cover their heads in prey. And Virgin Mary did. The christian religion is misunderstood by some Islam people. The Ten Commandments forbids adultry, murder, stealing, jelously, envy ect. We are a loving and peacefull religion. God is our creator and no ones higher then Him and Jesus Christ is our saviour whom is God’s son and both of them make the Holy spirit. Jesus thaught us to love our enemies and friends with everyone and not to judge a person. Just read the Bible and get the facts right.”
-Mary, blogger like us.
Did u get her point? She’s trying to point out that a lot of christian women already did a lot of undergarments and swimsuit modelling just like Michelle, but no drastic action are taken upon them. This is a very very long comment, which become a debate at the blog. In the end, the conclusion sounds like
Your sins you commited is between you and God, same goes to as mine.
Well, so what’s the verdict?
For me, i believe we hardly cannot avoid ourselves from commiting sins. So i guess same goes to Leslie. Nowadays, sex sells. She used it to make her living. Some people are willing to take bribe just to ensure thay have enough money. That is also a sin, right? Regardless from what had happen, I believe Leslie had learnt her lesson. Not just not to bring such drugs to Indonesia, but also to behave as a better than that. It’s up to her after all. As a Muslim, let us pray so that Michelle Leslie be a better Muslim. InsyaAllah. Think again, when we collide we lose ourselves…
